We are thrilled to announce a significant achievement for the team at J F Pearce & Sons Ltd. This week, we officially delivered our very first AITT (Association of Industrial Truck Trainers) R5 Lorry Loader Operator Course.

The response has been incredible; since launching, we have already successfully put 12 candidates through the program! This isn’t just a milestone for our accreditation—it’s a direct investment in the safety and technical skill of our workforce, ensuring our team is equipped with the most current qualifications in the industry.

A Journey of Persistence: Quality Over Speed

Our path to this moment started back in 2024 when we first secured our status as an accredited training centre for AITT. While we were eager to hit the ground running, the industry faced several delays in the rollout of the updated R5 course.

We made the strategic decision to wait for the latest, most rigorous version of the R5 curriculum to be finalized for 2026. In the world of heavy lifting and haulage, “good enough” doesn’t cut it. We believe that when it comes to heavy machinery and safety, being at the cutting edge of the newest standards is the only way to operate.

Why This Matters

This course is a critical component for lorry loader operators. It goes beyond basic operation, diving deep into the technicalities of modern equipment. Our candidates focused on:
